Safety, Health and Environment are the drivers of Savio Industrial
Environment and safety
Savio Industrial is part of the SAVIO Group that operates in the pharmaceutical sector covering different sectors: from research and development, to production, to distribution, to scientific information, to the medical class. The cogeneration project was born from the attention of the SAVIO Group to the impact of the activities on Safety, Health and Environment.
The 1 MW plant started up in 2018 at the Pavia site, satisfies approximately 85% of the company’s energy needs: the heat produced is used mainly for process needs and for managing environmental conditions, temperature and humidity, in the environments intended for pharmaceutical production.
From an environmental point of view, the cogenerator, in addition to avoiding the emission of 10,000 tons/year of CO2 into the atmosphere, has been recognized as a CAR (High Efficiency Cogeneration) plant and has obtained the Safety and Environment white certificates.
Fundamental priorities for Savio Industrial are to guarantee safe and comfortable workplaces for employees and to minimize the environmental impact of its activities, through a certified Safety-Health-Environment Management System.
Territory
As part of the Savio Group, we support the territory that hosts us by actively collaborating with local institutions, associations, schools and universities.
Some of the initiatives we have contributed to:
PAVIA, A CITY WITH A POSITIVE IMPACT
We cooperated with PMG ITALIA for the project “Pavia Città a Impatto Positivo”, contributing to the planting of the Sicurani park in Pavia Ovest, to the transfer to UILD of a means of transport for the disabled and to increasing the culture of sustainability among the students of the Liceo Scientifico “T. Olivelli” in Pavia.
TALENT WEEK
On June 19, 2024, we hosted about 60 high-potential students from all over Italy in their third and fourth year of high school at our production site in Pavia. The project, in collaboration with LabTalento – University of Pavia, Academy of Distinction and Assolombarda, focused on training and the future. The talents, led by the Director of Engineering, Plant Services and RSPP and the Production Director of Savio Industrial, got to grips with the latest and best-performing technologies in the pharmaceutical field, including our latest investment: the IMA 1200 granulation suite.
MASTER'S DEGREE CTF PLUS
We are CTF LM+ partners, a bridge between the University of Pavia and the world of work. The LM+ project aims to create a training path that integrates academic knowledge at the highest level with the skills required by companies and other professional organizations. The training activity in the company is integrated into the university curriculum and tends to the acquisition of coherent and predefined professional skills, based on specific training objectives.
SAFETY
The Savio Group is committed to promoting the physical and mental well-being of its people, always operating with the highest possible level of safety and respect for the environment. Both of our Savio Industrial production sites are committed to complying with all applicable laws and regulations as well as the standards necessary to provide adequate protection of the ISO 45001:2018 (for the Pavia and Ronco Scrivia plants) and ISO 14001:2015 (for the Pavia plant).
We believe it is our deep duty to involve, consult and encourage the participation of all workers, at every level, to promote responsibility and increase their awareness regarding sharing a healthy and safe workplace.
